Our Vision

All too often the fitness industry and large corporate gyms can be an intimidating and overwhelming environment for those who are advanced or just beginning their weight training journey. With over 20 years of strength training experience, including Strongman and powerlifting, US Army veteran Donnie Kiernan BA-S, CPT founded the Strength & Performance Institute. Donnie had the vision to build an intimate, boutique-style, strength and conditioning personal training studio that welcomes anyone, of all ages, no matter their fitness level or experience, who desires to learn how to build strength, perform optimally, and achieve long-lasting fitness goals.

Our Difference

SPI is different because it offers a unique training experience for men and women, at all fitness levels. With the word institute in our name, education is a foundational pillar of the mission at SPI. Our personal trainers take the time and attention needed to help clients learn about the mechanics of movement, proper form, and the reasons why you're doing certain exercises. Sharing this knowledge and these details set the stage for longevity and real lifestyle changes. Knowledge is power, or in this case, knowledge builds strength! The one-on-one private training atmosphere allows your personal trainer to focus completely on you, every time, to ensure you optimize each session effectively.

Our Approach

At the Strength & Performance Institute, we take a holistic approach to every client's strength and conditioning program. Every day brings new challenges; injuries, work pressure, relationship stress, etc. Working one-on-one with each client, in a private atmosphere, allows us to build strong, trusting relationships. This lets us tap into the physical and mental aspects of who you are that can either hinder or help you in attaining your desired fitness goals and results. By considering all of the different nuances that can affect your progress, our trainers are able to communicate and adapt your training sessions so you feel empowered and capable every time you step into the gym.

Our Process

Whether you are trying to lose weight, get in better shape, build more muscle, create definition, or just want to generally feel and perform better in your everyday life, our team of professional strength coaches help you navigate the path you'll need to take to find long-lasting sustainable results. We track your progress and make sure everyone's time is being utilized optimally. Every client is assessed to be sure we are the right fit for each other. And lastly, we will work one-on-one with you, checking in and helping you be accountable and consistent along the way.

Asses & Analyze

We perform a preliminary discussion over the phone to discuss your goals from a high-level perspective. Then, we schedule a one-on-one consultation where we dive deeper into understanding the results and outcomes you're looking to achieve and do a general assessment of your current physical condition.

Strategy & Next Steps

Following your assessment consultation, your strength training coach will map out a plan of action. This will provide you with a well-rounded view of the commitment required to attain the outcomes your seeking.

Accountability & Review

Our personal trainers will educate, support, and navigate you through your journey, but it is up to you to stay accountable, transparent, and consistent. Your personal training coach will continuously track your progress and check-in with you along the way.
